Modern slavery is a growing concern globally. The data shows that the number of people suffering from this crime is increasing by around 20% every four years, with published figures now indicating that 50 million people are held in modern slavery conditions worldwide.

The year 2022 saw the fallout of the Covid pandemic and political unrest, leading to mass human migration. This creates opportunities for criminals to exploit people’s needs and fears, driving this crime further underground.
