Somerset House is a Grade 1 listed building open to the public, which was constructed in the late 1700’s and was the home of the Admiralty as well as the HMRC is latter years and is now a working arts centre built on historic foundations around one of the most beautiful courtyards in Europe. The Somerset House Trust was established in 1997 to conserve and develop the building which currently houses 150+ small business start ups as well as cafes, bars and restaurants and is one of London’s hidden gems, home to creative minds, shows and performances. It hosts a fabulous summer series of gigs and Film 4’s famous open air cinema as well as the ultimate winter destination when the courtyard hosts the Somerset House skating rink for 9 weeks each year.
When the Trust was seeking a facilities service supplier, it was hoping to partner with a service provider that would understand the needs of the Trust in delivering services of a high standard satisfying their tenants, clients and the visiting public. The listed status of the building and the diverse range of activity it hosts, means the building requires an adaptable partner who is able to anticipate and respond to the needs of the Trust.
Our contract with the Trust started in 2012 and our team and service scope has grown since we started delivering award winning services to this iconic site that welcomes over 3 million visitors per annum.
